Brad, of Brad Sucks fame, remixed my More Than Soup. It’s awesome.
Here’s something I’m planning on reading.
Well, my Please Don’t Call Me Ken got second place.. not too shabby! I got a lot of good feedback about it, and it did have a few problems. Congratulations Dr. Worm.
I decided to take a break from singing this week, and recorded the music for another Brainpipe SongFight! entry. This one is called I Don’t Believe You. Bill wrote the lyrics and did the vocals. It could probably use some mix adjustments as of now, but I think it’s pretty cool.
In other news, Reaktor is officially the bee’s knees. I have entered a new world of sonic possibilities.
This week’s SongFight! is called Please Don’t Call Me Ken.
I’m really happy with my Starfinger entry. It’s more rap, but I fleshed out the music more than last time I did this.
Time was really my main enemy this week. The mix is a little off, and I had some mic problems (not to mention some problems with my flow). Anyway, I think the concept is good enough to gloss over these problems.
I’d like to say a few more words about my current songfight entry Violet Wants It Her Way.
The reviews are definitely mixed on this one, but I consider it an unequivocal success. As my good buddy Matty Destroyer said, “Not every song is designed to be a hit” (or something like that). Check out his site hotboombox.com for some switched on punk rock, by the way.
Anyway, I’m glad to see that some people appreciate the new song for what it is. I’m annoyed that so many people review it in terms of More Than Soup, but that’s not really surprising. I’ve been wanting to do something slow and somber for weeks. This is suitably close to that goal for now.
Yes, I really like this new song of mine. Thanks.
I won the More Than Soup fight!
I got 57 votes out of a total of 131. I’m so proud!
What better way to follow such a solid victory than with something experimentally unlikable! My Violet Wants it Her Way is on the Blue Fight this week, up against a bunch of other songs. It will not win, but I’m fond of it.
Here is an awesome Radiohead article:
Radiohead Rorschach,An innocent fifth grader’s picture is worth a thousand-word critical analysis.
The indomitable Bortwein has designed an awesome Starfinger T-Shirt. I can’t yet vouch for the quality of the actual shirt, but the design is bonzer!
Thanks Bortwein!
