Dress Code

Sikh student detained by Secret Service

Sahni, 21, said he believes he was singled out because of his appearance.

It seems unlikely that actual terrorists would be dressed up like clowns when they’re out on their secret missions, but you can’t blame the agents for being extra precautious here.

Note to all our foreign buddies: if you’re wearing a turban, you’re asking for it.

Smelly Food

Sometimes I wish we had a poster like this here at work.

Jersey City Chinese food should not be eaten in public.

Stickup men make off with lunch, not loot

Beat Al Gore

Is it just me, or does this sound like another desperate attempt at making Al seem more like a human than the robot that he really is?

“The role is a whirlwind and also incredibly bizarre. You can talk about your dad in ways only you can do. Like you can tell reporters about the time he helped you memorize all the Beatles albums in chronological order, and God help you if you say ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ came before ‘Sgt. Pepper’s.’”

–KRISTIN GORE, daughter of AL, telling The Washington Post what it’s like when children get caught up in their fathers’ presidential campaigns.

Live 4

What a program!

I had some stability problems on the Mac — especially when using my NI plugins — but in Windows it is rock-solid, super flexible, and funner than ever.

To give you an idea of how service-oriented Ableton is: when I emailed them regarding the problems on the Mac, one of the lead programmers responded within 5 minutes. Since then, we’ve had an ongoing email conversation, tracking down the cause of the problem.

I can not recommend Live highly enough — but you may want to hold off upgrading if you are using a Mac.

EDIT: If you don’t know what Live is, check out these movies and prepare to whip out your credit card.

Cocka Cola

Pardon my perverted pun, but I could not resist.

Sync It

I don’t know anything about the product they’re selling, but check out the “Watch SyncITBaby in action” link on the right hand side.

Note to the many computer manufacturers reading this blog: in the future if there is a shortage of people to use in your advertising, feel free to use me.

Here’s an image from my portfolio:

PS: The title of this post should be read with Sean Connery’s voice, if at all possible.

Nerd Tattoos

Some of these are pretty cool, but they are definitely all nerdy.

Revenge of the Tattooed Nerds

Maybe I should get a Rygar tattoo.

Jerry Springer …

… the Opera?

I’m not big on broadway, but I have enjoyed the few shows that I’ve seen. This definitely looks entertaining to me.
