Finally a MMOG that I want to try:
I”m not a dork.
I was snooping around the metasonix forum today, and came across this amazing video:
As for metasonix… I am almost completely ambivalent about their products. The sound samples on the website are underwhelming.
Am I a fool?!
I’ve been in a sound design mode lately, and here is a little resultant improv:
I don’t know why I called it that.
The choppy rhythmic thing at the beginning was done in Kontakt 2. The bass tone is provided by a lovingly crafted iZotope Trash patch, which will make an appearance on a real song someday, I swear it. That lovely flute is from Reaktor 5’s amazing Steampipe 2 instrument.
Brainpipe’s Chainsaw is the subject of the next remixfight.
This was floating around a few months ago, and I wasn’t that impressed, but I gave it another try yesterday and I’ve been listening to it ever since.
The idea is that you tell it things you like, and it uses data from the Music Genome Project to give you a steady of stream of similar music. Most people I know seem to be unhappy with it’s selection algorithm, but I have been introduced to many awesome songs over the last day.
Eventually you will have to pay if you want to listen to this without ads, but right now there are no ads implemented, so get it while it’s hot.
After being pummeled by comment spam despite my use of a blacklist, I have switched comments on this site to a system that uses a security code to verify the submitter’s sentience, more or less.
Please let me know if something is broken.
Thanks.
