Great stuff. Glad to see you back in the studio…
My favorites are “Mind Control” and “Creature of Habit.”
Could have recorded a five-minute ambient piece to finish it off :)

I agree - “Creature of Habit” is my favorite as well. I dig “Baker’s Perfection” too.

1. Nothing Better
This is a cool song. The beat is busy though.
I would have brought the beat in after the keys
so that it doesn’t seem so puzzling.

2. Mind Control
Wow. This is awesome. I love the reverb
vocals that kind of wash off into the distance.
The drums are intentioanlly double tracked off
a bit? Interesting choice, but works in context.

3. Baker’s Perfection
After a few listens I still can’t get into this
one. Lyrics sound clever. This might be the one
that I can’t get out of my head two months from
now.

4. Hammurabi’s Code
Wow, this is nice. It’s got that B-52s vibe, but
creeped out. Funny words. Cool sounds. The drums
seem to change tempo a lot, though, like a total
amateur is playing samples through an e-kit.

5. Hats
An interesting experiment. I guess you’re just always
clever. I like how your little lisp comes out when
you say “hats”. Nice bass line.

6. Creature of Habit
Ths is WAY out there. And it still works. This is the
kind of music Jello Biafra SHOULD be making. Great
beat in the chorus. I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite, but
it’s a good way to close the set.

Well, “Hammurabi’s Code” is pretty rockin and “Mind Control” is very solid - Blur/Gorillaz-esque. The other ones are nice - the music is great, but the lyrics are a little goofy (But who am I to criticize lyrics for being goofy). All in all, very nice work. I would like to hear more like “Hammurabi’s Code”. I didn’t notice a lisp at all…mbeanis is a weirdo.

I’m making a comment. Craig’s lyrics are often goofy and that is part of the reason why we like his music!

If you don’t like the new cd I’ll kick your ass. Baker’s perfection is my favorite.
